Assignment 2- Proposal for Folio

For my folio I was considering on capturing landscapes or old architecture during sunsets or sunrises. At first I was thinking of documenting Goulburn and the smaller towns around it as there are many old rundown buildings and icons. Some old rundown places are the old boy’s orphanage, Kenmore hospital, the old brewery and Goulburn Waterworks. Interesting architecture and icons around town include the Court House, Rocky Hill, the Big Merino and St. Saviour's Cathedral. I took a few shots of Rocky Hill, the sun setting and the orphanage but decided to change my idea for my folio completely. Because Goulburn is so small and isn’t very exciting I have already had to document it a few times for photography assignments in the past and I have reached a point where I am sick of trying to find new places to photograph.


















After last weeks street photography at Garema Place I really got into interacting with people and I enjoyed capturing people and their expressions without them having time to pose. Many of the photos were taking while other people from my class where having conversations with the random. The people I approached where very casual and had their own unique style which I really liked as it made it a whole lot easier photographing them.
I have decided that I definitely want to do portrait photography for my folio but I am unsure what age group I would like to capture or whether I want a folio of people all ages, but I really enjoy capturing young children while they are playing so I have to still make a decision on that.
As for colour I am considering on having none but using black and white as I feel it is more expressive.
